Urambi Hills is a lovely site skirting the edge of Canberra’s largest southern suburb, Kambah.  For the past few months I have been in conversation with one of the members of the local Parkcare group and Southern ACT Catchment Group about the prospect of doing a walking arts project. This idea is seen as part of a larger concept for an artist in residence program based at Urambi Hills.

The plan is to develop a public walking project for March next year which will be informed by knowledge sharing from local Parkcare members, ecologists, historians, First Nations Elders and scientists. On Monday we were guided around some of the key sites on this land by fellow artist, friend and active Urambi Parkcare member, Louise Curham.
